GTM Saint-Martin and Getelec TP are building new offices on the island of Saint-Martin. The first formwork has just been installed at the construction site. According to Guillaume Cognard, Regional Director for the Antilles at VINCI Construction Outre-mer, this investment reflects the group’s commitment to establishing a long-term presence in the territory, paving the way for future projects as well as job opportunities.
It's not just a new building that's starting to take shape in Saint Martin.
In a post shared on LinkedIn, Guillaume Cognard, Regional Director for the Antilles at VINCI Construction Outre-mer, announces the installation of the first formwork for the future office complex intended for the teams at GTM Saint-Martin and Getelec TP.
The manager describes this project as a sign of a long-term presence.
According to him, the construction of these new facilities represents «a strong signal of sustainable and lasting integration into the Saint-Martin landscape,» with an ambition that goes beyond simply building a headquarters or offices.
Future Projects and New Hires Announced
One of the key aspects of this announcement is, in fact, employment.
Guillaume Cognard directly links this expansion of the local presence to the prospect of Future projects and hiring in Saint Martin.
However, no specific number of hires or timeline has been announced at this stage.
The construction of permanent offices is, however, an indication of the two companies’ commitment to establishing a local presence to support their operations on the island.
This strategy is already supported by an operational presence. In particular, Getelec TP has a branch office in Saint Martin, located on Route de l’Espérance in Grand-Case, which was established in 2019.
Several projects have already been completed in Saint Martin
VINCI Construction Outre-mer's companies are currently working on several projects in the territory.
In 2026, In particular, Getelec TP was awarded a contract by the Collectivité of Saint Martin to build the parking lot on the Marigot waterfront. The project, which began in February, involved the creation of approximately 70 parking spaces along Boulevard de France.
The company also works on more technically complex infrastructure projects. VINCI Construction Outre-mer specifically cites the work carried out in La Savane to renovate and bring the drinking water and wastewater networks under the RN7 into compliance with regulations.
More recently, VINCI Construction’s management visited Saint Martin to meet with the teams at Getelec TP and GTM, including visits to the construction sites along the RN7 and at Collège 900.
A presence that is becoming more permanent
The construction of shared office spaces thus takes on a special significance.
It marks the transition from a presence that was primarily tied to various construction sites to a more structured physical presence on the island.
Getelec TP and GTM are part of the VINCI group. The 2026 list of the group’s consolidated companies specifically includes Getelec TP and GTM Guadeloupe among the companies fully consolidated into the group.
For VINCI Construction Outre-mer, this regional structure makes it possible to draw on a wide range of expertise in building construction, public works, infrastructure, hydraulic engineering, and civil engineering.
In Saint Martin, where there are still significant needs in terms of infrastructure, reconstruction, public facilities, networks, and urban development, having teams with a long-term presence can also help businesses enter new markets.
An encouraging sign for local employment
We will now have to wait and see how Guillaume Cognard's announcement regarding future hiring plays out in practice.
Because beyond the real estate project itself, this is probably the most interesting aspect for the region: the stated commitment to transform a series of construction projects into sustainable economic development, which has the potential to generate local economic activity and jobs.
